Tucker and her mother said they have heard nothing negative about her participation in the four years she has wrestled for Pleasant Hill except for comments made by opposing coaches in Kansas City area newspapers.

"I know there's some negative out there from people who don't like it but they keep it to themselves," Julie said. "My community, team and family are really supportive. I'm probably the most supported athlete here.

"I know I'm getting attention because I'm a girl, but I'm here because I worked hard, not because I'm a girl."
