By Curtis Duncan The Hazelwood West baseball team made sure that it started the North County Classic on the right track. West opened the tournament with a bang, last Saturday, rolling to a 15-0 victory over Cardinal Ritter in a first round game at Hazelwood West. Tom Anderson and John Fuchs provided a couple of big hits, as each player homered to help jump-start the Wildcats' hitting. Hazelwood West (2-1) scored five runs in each of the first three innings to gain a comfortable early advantage. It was the opening game of the season for the Lions, who dropped to 0-1 with the setback. Justin McMenamy picked up the win, pitching for Hazelwood West.
