Hazelwood West Blanks Ritter In North County Classic

By Curtis Duncan
The Hazelwood West baseball team made sure that it started the North County Classic on the right track.  West opened the tournament with a bang, last Saturday, rolling to a 15-0 victory over Cardinal Ritter in a first round game at Hazelwood West.
Tom Anderson and John Fuchs provided a couple of big hits, as each player homered to help jump-start the Wildcats' hitting.
Hazelwood West (2-1) scored five runs in each of the first three innings to gain a comfortable early advantage.
It was the opening game of the season for the Lions, who dropped to 0-1 with the setback.  Justin McMenamy picked up the win, pitching for Hazelwood West.
