Oilers Rally In Seventh To Beat Eagles

By Paul Kopsky
The East Alton-Wood River Oilers got the monkey off their backs and got into the win column on Monday, coming from behind to defeat the Columbia Eagles, 6-4, in Columbia.
The Oilers (1-4) trailed, 4-2, when they came to bat in the seventh but rallied for four runs to grab the lead.
   Lefty Jake Ringering pitched

two scoreless innings in  relief to pick up the victory.
"He did everything we asked him to do," said Oilers' coach Phil Keasler of Ringering.  "He just went in and  threw strikes and let the defense help."
finally get that first victory.
"It's always good to win a game," said Keasler.  "But it's a little icing on the cake when you come from behind."
