Pattonville Blanks Kirkwood, 8-0

By Curtis Duncan
Pattonville started the day off right on Saturday in the Ballwin Tournament with a solid 8-0 thrashing of Kirkwood.  With the victory, the Pirates raised their mark to 9-1 on the season. Kirkwood dropped to a 7-4 mark.
The Pirates took control of the game with three runs in the bottom of the second inning.
A fourth inning run made it 4-0, and then, the Pirates added insurance runs in the last of the fifth and sixth innings to put the game on ice.
Once again, the Pirates came up big at the plate with a 14-hit attack.  Gabe Lindsey and Tyrone Robertson each collected three hits on the day.  Lindsey drove in two runs and scored a run.  Robertson doubled twice and scored a pair of runs.  John Jones also contributed to the Pirates' cause with two hits and a pair of RBIs.

Pattonville's Tyrone Roberson crosses the plate as Kirkwood catcher Eathan Barnett looks to gun down a runner.

Pat Clooney was the winning pitcher for Pattonville.  Clooney was razor sharp with his control, fanning six hitters and walking none to claim the victory; Kirkwood managed just six hits off Clooney.
Joe Hardesty took the loss for Kirkwood.
