By Jorie Lewis "Keep playing until the final out." The Nerinx Hall Markers took that simple thought and rode it all the way to a district championship. In Monday's championship game against Ursuline, however, the final out just happened to be 48 outs after the first out. Nerinx topped the Bears in a marathon 16-inning game to capture the Class 4A District 6 crown. The Markers scored a run in the top of the seventh inning to knot the game at five runs each, and neither team scored again for another nine innings. Sporting totals more closely aligned with a Major League Baseball game than a Missouri high school softball playoff, the Markers posted 15 hits in 67 at bats.
