By Paul Kopsky The Eureka Wildcats bounced back from Friday's semifinal loss to Cor Jesu by beating Jefferson City, 1-0, in Saturday's Class 4A Third Place game. Senior Melanie Wallach, pitching her final game in a Eureka uniform, pitched a one hit shutout and layed down a key sacrifice bunt which helped the Wilcats score the game's only run in the first. "We were just real excited to play today; we were ready to take third," said Wallach. In that Eureka first, Haley Viefhaus singled and advanced to second on Wallach's bunt. Adie Viefhaus then stroked a run-scoring single to put Eureka ahead, 1-0. There would be no more scoring.
